Mapping Technology

  • A process where paper Federal Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) are used to determine the precise location of the footprint of a structure or structures located on a property.

  • Plat maps, aerial photography, legal descriptions, site plans and careful delineation are used in conjunction with the FIRMs.

  • Each technician is highly trained and supervised for several months. All determinations are checked and rechecked for accuracy.

  • PDR uses a peer review and team approach for difficult issues.

  • All GIS systems have a degree of error . The original source document is the most accurate method of delineation.
